Doerrwerk: Healthy snacks made of rescued fruit & vegetables

“It always seems impossible until it is done.” – Nelson Mandela.
Inspired by this quote, we decided to start introducing you to startups in the circular economy which have shown the courage to disrupt business as usual. We look forward to presenting you innovative and sustainable products, technologies and services on a regular basis. Contact us now if you want to be featured, too!

Too curvy, too long, too big – fruit and vegetables that don’t meet the esthetic eye of the supermarket’s buyer tend to have a very short life on earth, no matter their taste. More often than we know of, these alterations simply get thrown away and thus add on to the 88 million tonnes of food that are wasted annually the EU. A German startup based in Berlin doesn’t consent with this approach and sees the beauty within each fruit and vegetable. Doerrwerk made it their mission to buy these faulty ones for a fair price at local farms and wholesalers and converts them into a delicious snack.

By now, customers can choose between multiple flavours: apple, pineapple, mango and some more, but see yourself: www.doerrwerk.de/unsere-produkte.
