Interview with Green Alley Award Winner 2022: Voltfang!

Interview with David Oudsandji, Co-Founder & CEO

David, you have won this year’s Green Alley Award – congratulations! Do you still feel the vibe of the evening? Was it a tough competition?

Thank you very much! Yes, I still feel the vibe. It was incredible to see how many people care about the topic of sustainability and that gives me more hope, that there are many startups and people which are willing to sacrifice a lot to enable a future worth living.

How did you prepare for the pitch and the Jury questions?

To be honest: Many of the questions that were asked, come up very often. So, we already had a good idea of what we wanted to answer.

With the Award you received a prize money of 25.000 Euros. What are you going to do with the money? How will you invest it?

We are going to invest in people who want to create an impact. A huge amount of money was spent for further development of our testing system which can grade batteries and therefore enable a second life.

What are your plans for the rest of the year? Where do you see your startup in one year from now?

Right now, we are selling our Voltfang Industrial which is our commercial storage system. We are preparing to scale the production into a series production which starts in October. Within one year, we will be deep in the series and preparing to build up the production site for a way larger series production, which will be the biggest 2nd-Life Production Europe has seen.

What is your tip for other startups who would like to apply for the next Green Alley Award?

Just do something that is necessary for our planet and contributes to a better future. And if you are highly passionate about it, you will be recognized – for sure.
