Monthly update from our startups

In 2014 Landbell Group initiated the very first Green Alley Award. Up to now more than 1200 startups applied for Europe's first startup prize. Among those our successful finalists and winners. To give them a platform and share their development and achievements with you, we're starting a new series. Every month we will share updates from the startups which made it to the past finals.

Time to Celebrate traceless

(2021 Green Alley Award winner)

Two reasons to celebrate: Just several days before their one-year anniversary traceless announced their first market pilot partnership. The startup is partnering up with German e-commerce platform OTTO – Congratulations! "A plastic that is completely biodegradable in a few weeks – that is a real game changer for the packaging industry (…). However, such a material can only be used sensibly if it meets the high requirements. This is what we want to find out as part of our partnership with traceless," says Benjamin Köhler from the OTTO sustainability team. The pilot starts 2022 with shipping bags made of traceless’ compostable material, which are currently in the development phase. If you want to find out how their cooperation started, then also listen to the podcast episode that traceless and OTTO recorded together.

dimpora’s Microfiber Innovation Challenge

(2021 Green Alley Award finalist)

dimpora was announced as one in 26 semi-finalists of the Microfiber innovation challenge run by Conservation X Labs and funded by Flotilla Foundation and the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation. The aim of the challenge is to find upstream solutions that either replace textiles or prevent fiber shedding to thus stop the microfiber pollution taking place everywhere. “Microfiber pollution is the challenge that is too small to see but too big to ignore (…) Innovations like those developed by the Microfiber Innovation Challenge semi-finalists are exciting because they are replacing sources of plastic pollution with sustainable alternatives”, says Alex Dehgan, CEO and Co-founder of CXL. We hope that dimpora will be selected as a finalist in December.

LivingPackets in Motion

(2019 Green Alley Award finalist)

This month LivingPackets posted a video of their new research & development center and announced that they will inaugurate the sites very soon. Moving into a new facility requires time and hard work but must also be very exciting! Another moving thing that happened to the startup this month, specifically to their product “The Box”, is that it went on a journey to another country – to another continent even! In September, The Box has been travelling through Japan and introduced itself to local companies with the aim of convincing them of its qualities and its sustainability advantages. We hope that “The Box” had a good and successful trip.
