Monthly update from our startups

In 2014 Landbell Group initiated the very first Green Alley Award. Up to now more than 1200 startups applied for Europe's first startup prize. Among those our successful finalists and winners. To give them a platform and share their development and achievements with you, we're starting a new series. Every month we will share updates from the startups which made it to the past finals.

The Berlin-based startup will present their innovation live on stage in Austin, Texas between March 12th and 13th. Kleiderly was nominated for the category Innovative World Technologies. TrusTrace: One million transactions

(2021 Green Alley Award finalist)

TrusTrace’s innovation is a digital platform for product traceability and supply chain transparency which focuses on the fashion industry. Producers and consumers profit from this data transparency that the startup creates by combining AI and blockchain technology. This month, TrusTrace celebrated 1 million transactions with real-time traceability. These transactions were done for one brand, covering 10,000 materials across 500 facilities, in less than three months. This is a big milestone in demonstrating that supply chain information can be automated and tracked at scale. Moreover, the startup was mentioned in an article by Apparel Resources presenting six traceability solution providers.

Sulfotools: Greener chemistry

(2017 Green Alley Award finalist)

In February, the former Green Alley Award finalist Sulfotools was featured in an article by Circular Stories. The key focus of the article is put on how the startup makes a sustainable impact on the chemical industry which has a really bad reputation in the world of circular economy: it is known to be one of the most energy-intensive industries and that production processes often require the use of many toxic solvents. Christina Uth, the co-founder of Sulfotools is convinced that “even in unattractive sectors like the chemical industry, green processes are possible”. Therefore, her startup developed a process called CPT (Clean Peptide Technology) to develop peptides in a more sustainable way. Peptides are very small biomolecules that are needed to produce cosmetics, food supplements or certain vaccines.

Green City Solutions: Impactful advertising

(2016 Green Alley Award winner)

Green City Solutions have installed their first CityBreeze in Germany, more specifically in Bestensee. The startup uses the natural ability of moss to cool air and bind and metabolize fine dust to improve the air quality in cities. Green City Solutions have installed their regenerative bio-tech filters in three products: CityTree, WallBreeze and CityBreeze. The latter combines moss filters with a screen and thus brings advertising and sustainability together. This new filter will stay in Bestensee for 6 weeks. In this time period, the company estimates that their technology will have freed 1.5 million m³ of air from about 25 grams of fine dust, which is a huge amount that equals to the volume of 600 Olympic swimming pools.
