In 2014 Landbell Group initiated the very first Green Alley Award. Up to now more than 1200 startups applied for Europe's first startup prize. Among those our successful finalists and winners. To give them a platform and share their development and achievements with you, we're starting a new series. From now on every month we will share updates from the startups which made it to the past finals.

Traceless is on a winning streak

(2021 Green Alley Award winner)

Traceless Materials won second place in the Future Hamburg Award and the Biopolymer Innovation Award. The first one is given to startups with ideas for the city of tomorrow. Since Traceless Materials was founded in Hamburg, the two founders were especially proud to receive this award. Read the news on Traceless Materials’ website here.

The other award the startup received is the Biopolymer Innovation Award – an award honoring innovations within the startup’s core business, which is material and process innovation in the field of biopolymers. The award ceremony was part of the Biopolymer Processing & Moulding Congress in the field of biobased and biodegradable plastics. Find out more about the startup’s participation in the award.

Successful June for dimpora

The Swiss startup dimpora can look back at a very successful June. First, it participated in the H&M billion dollar collection – a virtual fashion collection to raise awareness for the importance of radical change in the fashion industry, e.g promoting sustainability. The collection was organized by the H&M foundation, which is a non-profit global foundation. Learn more about the billion dollar collection and its purpose here.

On top of this great achievement, Mario Stucki, CEO of dimpora, was selected as one of the six winners of the de Vigier Awards 2021. The award is presented to young Swiss entrepreneurs for innovative and future-oriented products or services. The W.A. de Vigier foundation was founded in 1987. A woman building the future

Gelatex co-founder Mari-Ann Meigo Fonseca has been selected as an honoree for the 2021 Women Building the Future campaign by Vegan Women Summit and Impossible Foods. “Women Building the Future” is an initiative to highlight women leaders around the world. 60 female leaders in six different categories were selected as honorees. Mari-Ann was selected for the category “Rising Stars and Disruptors”.

Transforming the cosmetic industry

(2017 Green Alley Award winner)

Sulapac has developed a patent pending material for the packaging of water-based cosmetics and is now looking for forerunner cosmetic brands to join its mission to save the world from plastic waste. Find out more about their latest innovation

What's also new from the startup is their newly developed pilot named “Take Back Sulapac”.  The pilot has been created together with the companies Vida, Karhumuovi and Ruohonjuuri. Customers of the three collaborating companies will get discounts when they bring back their used jars and Sulapac will manage the recycling of these products. Within the course of the year, Sulapac is planning to expand its new program to other markets. Learn more about the pilot.

City Breeze on Tour!

Together with Deutsche Telekom, the startup Green City Solutions participated in this year’s Greentech Festival.The event was a good opportunity for them to present their product CityBreeze, which consists of a green, vitalizing moss wall on one side and a 75 inch LED screen on the other side. CityBreeze enables optimal air purification. Read more about the Greentech Festival.

Now that the festival is over, the CityBreeze moved to Deutsche Telekom’s tech incubator for the preparation of its digital presence for the MobileWorldCongress in Barcelona. Find out more about the congress.

New partners for RePack

(2014 Green Alley Award winner)

RePack secured three new customers, who will from now on use the sustainable packaging provided by the Finnish startup. Oysho Germany, ba&sh and Blissim are companies operating in the fashion and beauty industry, which needs to undergo profound changes to become more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Apart from this success, RePack was one of the winners of the German Design Award in the category “Excellent Communication Design Packaging”. The award, which is organized by the German Design Council, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Read more about RePacks participation in the award.
