Once you’re hooked on the idea of circular economy, you’ll soon learn: there are barely any limits – nor in the world of interior design. Given that since the 1950’s we’ve accumulated 8.3 billion tons of plastics on earth, it’s seems like common sense to start using it as raw material for everyday items. That’s where Pentatonic, a startup based in Berlin, comes into play: it convinces with ergonomically designed furniture in a sleek and modern style.

“The stuff at the end is the stuff at our beginning.”  Pentatonic states in their manifesto video:

Other than beautifully designed interior design items such as chairs, tables and textiles, they offer glassware made from smartphone screens and a special “fractured” product line in collaboration with a design practice called “Snarkitecture” – originating in New York. Pentatonic furthermore offers customers the possibility to select and buy single components, thereby supporting peoples’ repair intentions.
