Green Alley Award Finalists: Meet the startups shaping the future of Europe’s circular economy

The 2024 Green Alley Award finalists represent a diverse array of innovative solutions ready to drive the circular economy forward. Among them are pioneering concepts such as repurposing electric car batteries for a second life, developing compostable and biochar-based packaging, advancing plastic recycling technologies, crafting new products from orange waste, introducing completely compostable clothing price tags, and innovating textile waste recycling methods to bridge the gap in synthetic yarn blends recycling.

Every year, the Green Alley Award event takes place with an important mission to spread: to encourage and support the circular economy. However, this year, the event is even more special as we gather to celebrate the 10th anniversary – a decade of fostering alternative solutions to ensure a better and more sustainable future on our planet.

For 10 years, we have nurtured the ideas and solutions of new European startups that are addressing global challenges like waste, plastic, and textile pollution. The Green Alley Award returns once again to Haus Ungarn in Berlin and will showcase Europe’s best circular economy business ideas live on stage.

Innovation and inspiration lie at the heart of our celebration. From the inventiveness of startups to their use of cutting-edge technology, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of new ideas and solutions. But beyond innovation lies inspiration – the driving force behind our collective endeavour to make important changes in our society.

As we mark this significant anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing the minds, feelings, and creativity of innovators and entrepreneurs alike.
