Current RFID applications employ radio frequency identification for anti-theft security detectors and auto-checkout machines, often with single-use tags. With this in mind, PulpaTronics, an English startup, has developed recyclable paper-based RFID tags that are metal-free and chipless, providing a more sustainable solution. Their goal is to eliminate metal by using technology to induce conductive circuitry into the paper, simplifying manufacturing with fewer materials and components.
