Startup updates: Veridis secures funding

Veridis, our Green Alley Award 2023 Finalists secures €1 million in funding!

In the global quest to address environmental concerns and combat plastic pollution, innovative solutions are emerging to revolutionize the recycling industry.

Veridis, our Green Alley Award 2023 Finalist based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, has secured 1 million euros in funding from a consortium led by NETZSCH and DOEN Participaties to introduce their MADSCAN technology – which is representative at an industrial scale and has already positioned them as one of the six finalists in 2023.

This technology promises to transform plastic recycling by providing accurate analysis and standardization, making recycled plastics the norm by 2030.

But what truly is their innovation? Veridis´ MADSCAN is a thermal analysis technology designed to identify and measure the unique thermal characteristics of different plastic types. Specifically, MADSCAN creates a thermal ´fingerprint´ for each plastic variant by tracking its melting and crystallization behaviours when subjected to heat and cooling processes.

This enables Veridis to precisely determine the composition of recycled plastic batches, empowering recycling companies with invaluable information about the types of plastics presents.

Veridis´ MADSCAN technology represents a pivotal advancement in the field of plastic recycling, offering a scalable and precise solution to the challenges faced by the industry.

With the support of NETZSCH and DOEN Participaties, Veridis is determined to bring MADSCAN to market, paving the way for a future where recycled plastics become the norm. By enabling recyclers to accurately analyze and standardize recycled plastics, MADSCAN is instrumental in driving the transition towards a more sustainable and circular economy.

As we march towards the 2030 deadline, initiatives like MADSCAN are essential in realizing the vision of a world where plastic waste is minimized, and resources are conserved for future generations.
